Kou Shuurei  

Age : 17 ans

Shuurei est la fille de Shouka et Shoukun Kou l'une des familles les plus puissantes de Saiunkoku. Malgré sa noblesse, Shuurei et sa famille sont pauvres, car huit ans plus tôt lors de la guerre pour la succession au trône le pays a du faire face à la famine et Shuurei et sa famille ont choisis de tout donner au peuple.
Pour subvenir à ses besoins Shuurei donne des cours au temple, travaille comme  comptable dans un bordel et joue de l'Ehru pour ceux qui veulent bien l'employer. Mais son rêve est de devenir un Haut-Fonctionne de l'Etat afin d'aider au mieux les gens habitants Saiunkoku. Malheureusement ce poste est interdit aux femmes.

Shuurei is the girl of Shouka and Shoukun Kou one of the most powerful families of Saiunkoku. In spite of its nobility, Shuurei and its family are poor, because eight years earlier at the time of the war for the succession with the throne the country has to deal with the famine and Shuurei and its family chose all to give the people. To provide for its needs Shuurei gives courses to the temple, works as accountant in a brothel and plays of Ehru for those who want to employ it well. But its dream is to become one High-Functions of the State in order to help people Saiunkoku inhabitants as well as possible. Unfortunately this station is interdict for the women.

Shi Ryuuki  

Age : 20 ans

Ryuuki Shi est l'actuel empereur de Saiunkoku. Il n'était pas destiné à régner étant le plus jeune de six enfants, mais quatre de ses frères se sont entre-tués lors de la guerre pour la succession au trône et l'un de ses autres frères, Seien a été exilé pour trahison.
Enfant il était battu par sa mère et ses frères. Seul Seien ce montré gentil et s'intéressait à lui. C'est pour cela que Ryuuki a choisi de se désintéresser des affaires de l'Etat en espérant que Seien revienne pour régner sur Saiunkoku.

Ryuuki Shi is the current emperor of Saiunkoku. It was not intended to reign being youngest of six children, but four of his brothers killed ones others at the time of the war for the succession for the throne and one of his other brothers, Seien was exiled for treason. Child it was beaten by his mother and his brothers. Only shown Seien this nice and was interested in him. It is for that which Ryuuki chose to ignore the businesses of the State by hoping that Seien returns to reign on Saiunkoku.

Shi Seiran  

Age : 27 ans prétend en avoir que 22 ans

Seiran a été recueilli par Shouka et sa femme 13 ans auparavant alors qu'il n'était qu'un vagabond et c'est juré de les protéger pour les remercier. Seiran est un excellent épéiste et un homme très secret. Sa véritable identité se dévoilera au bout de quelques épisodes.

Seiran was adopted by Shouka and his wife 13 years before whereas he was only one vagrant and it is sworn to protect them to thank them. Seiran is an excellent epeist and a very secret man. Its true identity will be revealed after some episodes.

Li  Kouyuu

Age : 24 ans

Kouyuu est un orphelin qui a été adopté à l'âge de treize ans par Reishin Kou. A seize ans il devient la personne la plus jeune ayant réussi l'examen impérial et devient ensuite le Vice-Secrétaire des Affaires Civiles, sous les ordres de Reishin Kou. Au début de l'histoire il est chargé d'instruire l'Empereur. N'ayant aucun sens de l'orientation il passe des heures à trouver son chemin.

Kouyuu is an orphan who was adopted at the thirteen years age by Reishin Kou. At sixteen years he becomes the youngest person having made a success of the imperial examination and becomes then the Vice-Secretary of the Civil cases, under the orders of Reishin Kou. At the beginning of the history it is charged to form the Emperor. Not having any direction of the orientation it passes the hours to find its way.

Ran Shuuei  

Age : 25 ans

Il est le quatrième frère ainé sur cinq et sa famille est l'un de deux plus puissante de Saiunkoku. Il est également le chef des armées et il est chargé de veiller sur l'empereur. Shuuei adore les femmes et les femmes l'adorent. Il a eu une aventure avec pratiquement toutes les femmes du palais et il est un client régulier d'un bordel située dans le district de la "Lumière Rouge". Il espère ainsi attiré l'attention de Shusui dont il est amoureux.

He is the fourth brother on five and its family is one of two more powerful of Saiunkoku. He is also the chief of the armies and it is charged to take care on the emperor. Shuuei adores the women and the women adore it. It had an adventure with practically all the women of the palace and he is a regular customer of a brothel located in the district of the "Red Light". He hopes thus drawn the attention of Shusui with which he is in love.

Kou Shouka  

Le père de Shuurei est l'ainé de la famille Kou. Il travaille à la bibliothèque impérial comme archiviste. A première vue il semble très gentil et incapable de faire du mal à une mouche, mais en réalité il est le légendaire assassin "Le Loup Noir". Il était le chef d'un groupe de tueur nommé "Les Loups du vent" qui était au service dans l'ancien empereur (le père de Ryuuki, Senka). Seul trois personnes sont au courant de sa véritable identité : Taishou Sou, Shusui et Reishin.

The father of Shuurei is the older brother of the Kou family. He works in the library imperial as archivist. At first sight it seems very nice and incompetent to make evil but actually he is the legendary assassin "the Black Wolf". He was the chief of a group of killer named "the Wolves of the wind" which was in the service in the former emperor (the father of Ryuuki, Senka). Only three people are with the current of her true identity : Taishou Sou, Shusui and Reishin.

Ran Ryuuren  

Age : 18 ans

Ryuuren est le plus jeune des cinq frères de la famille Ran et aussi le plus intelligent. On dit de lui que c'est un génie et il ne se gêne pas pour rabaisser ses frères. On peut l'entendre plusieurs fois dans la série appelée Shuuei par "mon quatrième idiot de frère ainé". Il a comportement des plus étrange ce qui fait que peu la plupart des gens le fuit.

Ryuuren is youngest of the five brothers of the family Ran and also most intelligent. One says of him that it is a genius and it is not obstructed to lower his brothers. We can hear it several times in the series called Shuuei by "my fourth idiot brother". He has behavior of strangest with the result that the majority of people flee it.

To Eigetsu / Yougetsu 

Age : 14 ans

Eigetsu est quelqu'un de très gentil, timide et qu'extrêmement intelligent. Il est monté à la capitale afin de passer l'examen impérial. Il possède une double personnalité Yougetsu qui se manifeste quant Eigetsu a trop bu et qui est tout son contraire, plus mature, arrogant, agile et très fort.

Eigetsu is somebody of very nice, timid and extremely intelligent. He goes to the capital in order to pass the imperial examination. It has a double  personality  Yougetsu which  appears as Eigetsu drank alcohol and which is all its opposite, more mature, arrogant, nimble and very strong.

Rou Ensei  

Age : 27 ans

Shuurei rencontre Ensei près de chez elle une journée d'été et l'invite à diner, depuis il nomme Shuurei "hime" (princesse). A la surprise de Shuurei, Ensei est une connaissance de Seiran qu'il appelle "shou senpuu" (petit tourbillon), ce qui ne plaît guère à celui-ci. Il s'avère qu'Ensei vient de la capitale "Brown" et souhaite rencontrer l'empereur afin d'officialiser son rang de gouverneur de cette province.

Shuurei meets Ensei close from her house one day of summer and invites it to dinner, since it names Shuurei "hime" (princess). With the surprise of Shuurei, Ensei is a knowledge of Seiran which it calls "shou senpuu" (smallswirl), which hardly dislikes this one. Ensei comes from the capital "Brown" and wishes to meet the emperor in order to officialize his rank of governor of this province.

Shusui

Age : 28 ans

Elle est la servante de Shuurei lorsque celle-ci rentre au palais comme concubine. Elle est secrètement amoureuse de Shouka qui ne semble pas partager ses sentiments où il ne s'en n'est pas rendu compte. Elle fait également partie des "Loups du Vent" et semble avoir un lien avec la famille Hyou.

She is the maidservant of Shuurei when this one go to the palace like concubine. She is secretly in love with Shouka which does not seem to share its feelings where it of did not realize. She also forms part of the "Wolves of the Wind" and seems to have a bond with the Hyou family.

Kourin

Age : 14 ans

Elle a été adopté huit ans plus tôt par Enjun Sa pour lequel elle éprouve une profonde gratitude. Elle devient la servante de Shuurei pendant la période que celle-ci passe au palais.

She was adopted eight years earlier by Enjun Its for which she had a deep gratitude. She becomes the maidservant of Shuurei for the period that this one passes to the palace.

Kou Reishin  

Il est le petit frère de Shouka, l'oncle de Shuurei et le père adoptif ainsi que le chef de Kouyuu. Reishin est chargé du département des Affaires Civiles et ce que peut de gens savent, il est depuis quatorze ans le chef de la famille Kou.

He is the little brother of Shouka, the uncle of Shuurei and the adoptive father as well as the chief of Kouyuu. Reishin is in charge of the department of the Civil cases and what can people has known, it is for fourteen years the head of the Kou household.

Kou Kijin  

Kijin est chargé du  Départements des Finances. Il porte un masque pour cacher son extrême beauté. Chaque personne homme ou femme l'ayant vu sans son masque tombant immédiatement amoureux de lui.

Kijin is in charge of the Departments of Finances. It carries a mask to hide its extreme beauty. Each person man or woman having seen it without his mask falling immediately in love with him.

Age : 27 ans

Le plus jeune frère de la famille Kou. Il s'occupe de gérer les affaires familiales et beaucoup de personnes pensent qu'il est le chef de la famille Kou.

The youngest brother of the Kou family. It is occupied of managing the family affairs and much of people think that he is the head of the Kou household.

Shou Yousei

L'un des trois professeurs de la Cour Imperial. C'est lui qui demande à Shuurei d'entrer au palais en tant que concubine pour éduquer l'empereur. Yousei est l'un des seuls à connaître la véritable identité de Shouka Kou. Il va s'avérer au fil des épisodes qu'il est l'un des huit sages ayant servi le premier empereur.

One of the three Prime Ministers for the country. It is him which requires of Shuurei to enter to the palace as a concubine to educate the emperor. Yousei is one of only to know the true identity of Shouka Kou. It will prove with the wire of the episodes which it is one of the eight wise ones having served the first emperor.

Sa Enju 

L'un des trois professeurs de la Cour Imperial. Enjun va tenter de faire assassiner Ryuuki soi-disant pour permettre à Seien de remonter sur le trône. Il s'avère finalement qu'il cherchait à focaliser l'attention de l'empereur sur sa région que sa famille contrôle par la peur.

One of the three Prime Ministers. Enjun will try to make assassinate Ryuuki to make it possible Seien to go up on the throne. It proves finally that it sought to focus the attention of the emperor on his area that its family controls by the fear.

Kochou est non-seulement la tenancière d'un bordel, mais aussi la patronne du district de la "lumière rouge".

Sa Sakujun  

Age : 28 ans

Il est le frère du milieu des trois frères du clan Sa. Sakujun fait partie du groupe des "Satsujinzoku" et 14 ans auparavant il a recueillit Seian et l'a fait rentrer dans cette bande.

He is the brother of the medium of the three brothers of the clan Sa. Sakujun forms part of the group of the "Satsujinzoku" and 14 years before he  collected Seian and  made return in this band.

Sa Kokujun 

Age : 18 ans

Kokujun est le plus jeune des frères Sa. Il est faible est extrêmement gentil. Il déteste les agissements de sa famille. Kokujun est amoureux de Shunki, la petite fille de Enjun et Heiki Sa.

Kokujun is youngest of the Sa brothers . It is weak and extremely nice. He hates the intrigues of its family. Kokujun is in love with Shunki, the of Enjun and Heiki Sa.

Sa Shunki 

Age : 16 ans

Shunki est la petite fille de Heiki et Sa Enjun. Ces parents ont été assassinés neuf ans plus tôt par... Sa grand-mère à sceller sa voix lorsqu'elle était petite, car Shunki peut manipuler les gens grâce à celle-ci. Elle est amoureuse de Kokujun.

Shunki is the small girl of Heiki and Her Enjun. These parents were assassinated nine years earlier by... Her grandmother seal her voice when she was small, because Shunki can handle people thanks to this one. She is in love with Kokujun.

Hyou Heiki 

Heiki vient de la famille Hyou dont les membres possèdent tous des pouvoirs magiques. Celui de Heiki est de voir le futur. Elle est également la femme de Enjun Sa.

Heiki comes from the Hyou family whose members have all  magic capacities. That of Heiki is to see the future. She is also the woman of Enjun Sa.

Tei Youshun

Youshun est le meilleur ami de Reishin et Kijin avec lesquels il a passé l'examen impérial. Il a gouverné la région Brune avec Ensei. Dans la deuxième saison de l'animé l'empereur lui demande d'accepter le poste de premier ministre.

Youshun is the best friend of Reishin and Kijin with which it passed the imperial examination. He controlled the Brown area with Ensei. In the second season of animated the emperor asks him to accept the post of Prime Minister.

Sai Rin 

Rin est la soeur jumelle de Shou. Jusqu'à son mariage (avec Youshun Tei) elle était le chef de la guilde des marchands de Koren. Elle deviendra ensuite inventeur comme elle l'a toujours souhaité.

Rin is the twin sister of Shou. Until her marriage (with Youshun Tei) she was the chief of the guild of the merchants of Koren. She will become then inventor as she always wished.

Shou est le chef de la guilde des marchands de Kinka. Il accepte d'aider les nouveaux gouverneurs de sa région pour que la paix y revienne enfin.
